Common Application Review & Proofreading
Better to be safe than sorry before hitting SUBMIT. Why not have an objective, professional, fresh set of eyes take a look at that application one last time before turning it in? This is particularly wise if the student applicant does not feel comfortable having mom or dad proofread his/her application and doesn't have access to a guidance counselor with the time or interest in performing a complete and final review. And now that the Common App has made it possible to assign review access to an Advisor, this service can be performed remotely, as well as in person. The fee for the remote proofreading service is $60. For an in-office Common App review, the consulting rate of $60/hr applies. To inquire about this service or to schedule a proofreading, email Francescadirectly. Once this service is scheduled, payment can be made online using PayPal here.
Online Essay & Resume Editing
This is a popular service for students with strong writing skills who need concentrated help with the editing and wordsmithing of their primary college essay, personal statements, supplemental essays, scholarship application essays and/or resumes, but who do not have much free time for in-person meetings. Using Google docs, I work one-on-one with the student to proofread, punctuate and polish his/her drafts. On average, this typically takes about 30 mins to an hour per draft. All edits and comments are provided as suggestions so that the student has the final say in accepting or rejecting recommendations directly within the document. The fee for this service is $30/draft* and requires instructor confirmation prior to making payment. To inquire about this service or to schedule a proofreading, email Francesca directly. Once this service is scheduled, payment can be made online using PayPal here.
*Often student essays and resumes require extensive edits resulting in more of the counselor's time and an additional fee.
